Wokload Data: A Wealth of Business Intelligence

With leading IT industry experts stating that today well over 70% of corporate data still flows through the batch, one would have to conclude by sheer volume alone there is a wealth of business intelligence waiting to be uncovered. In today’s enterprise, it would be surprising to find someone question the need or benefit of a job scheduler, but debate might exist as for whom that workload data is valuable. Traditionally speaking, job scheduling has been a very silo'd IT discipline. Jobs are expected to complete on time, and in some cases it’s not even known that running jobs are the backbone of many of the IT services we all depend upon daily - since they are not always a visible function to the common user, as is the case with Network, System, and Application performance. Given this lack of visibility, it's not all too surprising that IT and Business Management don't immediately look to their job scheduler or workload automation solution to be an enabler to the modern day IT challenges of Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Dynamic Provisioning, and Business Service Management.

JAWS was designed to uncover those "hidden treasures", this wealth of business intelligence, and make it available to not only the administration team responsible for managing the workload environment, but also to the people who are traditionally kept from obtaining, and thus understanding and using this information directly. JAWS is that translation layer – used to help business management, application developers, operations, and administrators get on the same page about the performance of their workload.
