Business Service Management

What...Include Workload Performance?

Business Service Management (BSM) emerged as a methodology for monitoring and measuring IT services from a business perspective, largely routed in the adoption of ITIL's IT Service Management methodology. This spawned the development of multiple technology products from IT software management vendors. Largely these solutions report on business service health as it relates to network, application, and overall infrastructure health. However many turn a blind eye to workload data. If you aren't including workload data, do you really have a true health of that IT business service?

JAWS is the ideal solution to "bridge the gap" that currently exists between Workload Automation solutions and Business Service Management technologies. One of the fundamental challenges that exists within many Workload Automation solutions is the lack of a holistic, comprehensive view of workload performance management. How did my workload perform in the past and how will it perform in the future? How do I isolate the root cause of workload performance issue? And how do I do that across thousands of uncorrelated individual jobs? JAWS provides a business driven correlation engine to derive Jobstreams based on the critical path of execution in accordance with a defined Service Level Agreement (SLA), and embeds a reconciliation layer to communicate directly with BSM platforms to integrate workload performance management data. JAWS currently supports a full integration to CA Spectrum Service Assurance, CA Technologies' BSM offering.
